The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support to the production department to implement process improvements (cost reduction, quality improvement, reduce downtime, improve tooling & equipment, etc.).
Technical Skill Requirements:
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree or equivalent professional experience
2-4 years experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in an automotive components industry
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Excellent knowledge of tooling
Excellent mechanical abilities
Knowledge of robotics, injection machines, vacuum formers and laser cutting robotic cells
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent documentation skills
Excellent mathematical aptitude and analytical thinking
Knowledge of Toyota Production System principles

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Engineering support to Production Department
Troubleshooting and repair of equipment, tooling, materials and processing issues
Continuous improvement for Production processes and quality
Obtain quotes from vendors for tooling and equipment
Conduct job set-up and start-up
Develop work cells, programming and tooling for various parts
Analyze scrap and labor and recommend countermeasures
Update Production documentation, including work instructions
