Senior SEO Strategist

This role will work closely with cross-functional teams within the client’s organization as well as various agency partners to provide SEO recommendations and share findings on various projects or deliverables.

  • Ensures that SEO techniques and strategies are well implemented and consistent across all websites.
  • Strong mix of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills; capable of digging into the nitty-gritty of SEO while also capable of evangelizing the adoption of SEO best practices across the organization.
    • Able to succinctly communicate SEO strategies and results that ladders up to business goals
  • Performs keyword research, content ideation, and monitor and provide recommendations to any technical SEO issues.
    • Page markup & schemas, URL structures, site crawl performance, server vs. client-side rendering, caching & CDNs, etc.
  • Creates Quarterly SEO Performance Reports that track and report on site performance and organic traffic trends.
  • Manages a team of 2-5 SEO Strategists: (After successful completion of manager training)
    • Assess the team’s needs, identify & remove blockers, provide constructive feedback on how well each strategist is performing or identify areas of opportunities to improve on a regular basis.
    • Conduct 1:1s with each Strategist to discuss in greater length about their projects, deliverables, professional & personal development opportunities.
    • Provide guidance and structure to the team and set expectations on the level of quality and on-time delivery for all tasks. 

  • 10+ years of SEO experience
  • 5+ years of managing a team of SEO Strategists
  • 5+ years of experience in working in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry
  • Expert knowledge of innovative and current SEO best practices
  • Strong knowledge of SEO reporting and relevant tools (Conductor, Screaming Frog, MOZ, SEMrush, etc.) and web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Adobe, etc.)
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, or related fields
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and team management
  • Strong time management skills
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions oriented
  • Experience in client and team management in remote/hybrid environments
  • Initiative to respectfully drive change in quickly evolving space
  • Knowledge and focus on analytics and ROI
