The Strategic Sourcing Category Manager (CM) is responsible for managing strategic sourcing projects from beginning to end with the ultimate objective of reducing product costs and adding value to the company. The CM assists in developing new and existing business sourcing strategies to significantly increase commercial value through efforts related to due diligence and understanding of print specifications and client and supplier data. This individual works on high value deals within key print related service segments including all printing, mailing and fulfillment services and negotiates directly with the supplier network with a focus on Healthcare materials.
Spend categories sourced and managed will primarily focus on categories to include all Print related methods, Point of Sale, Displays, Packaging, Mailing and Fulfillment services. Extensive prior experience in strategic sourcing projects and managing print categories is required with some experience also related to Healthcare materials and compliance. The candidate must be highly analytical and demonstrate an ability to problem solve and use data to help dictate future actions. Duties will include continuous monitoring and tracking of realized savings and internal / external compliance with selected suppliers including negotiating pricing and commercial contract terms.
Job Tasks Implements the New and Existing Business Strategic Sourcing group strategy to significantly increase commercial value through discovery/due diligence of spend, data and processes and development of service and supplier capabilities across the broad range of the group’s operations and delivery channels.
Implement high value deals within key print and print related services segments, assisting in creating strategies from start to end.
Responsible for aiding in shaping the strategic direction for New and Existing Business Strategic Sourcing to drive excellence.
Responsible for due diligence/discovery of new client spend, data and processes to formulate a savings strategy.
Responsible for savings validation of the commercials from a strategic sourcing perspective during the implementation phase.
Manage suppliers to deliver financial benefits, achieve performance targets and exceed quality and service standards.
Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers on behalf of the group.
B.S. Degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing or related field or related extensive experience in Printing industry.
7-10 years of experience sourcing print related projects within a marketing organization.
Strong knowledge of print sourcing strategies in Healthcare preferred.
Ability to analyze data and work in MS Office products with an emphasis on MS Excel to create and analyze various data related to client specifications and pricing.
Proven experience and relationships with key industry suppliers is preferred.
